Why is an understanding of culture necessary in order to understand history?Understanding culture is crucial in order to understand history because culture forms, and is based on history. Everyone has their own culture, and it can effect the way they think. Everyone has different ideas and opinions, which could lead to disagreements and even conflicts between people or even whole societies. An example of it is Britain and the thirteen colonies. England thought it was okay to be taxing the colonists heavily, but the colonists didn’t feel right to be taxed without having a say in the government. The English and the colonists both had their own culture, and had different opinions. At the end, the colonists rebelled against England and they decided to form a society of their own. This proves that there are conflicts because of the different ideas each culture has and it could change history.
